FAQs

What should I expect during my sessions?
Each session is one-on-one and tailored to your goals. We’ll start with a movement assessment, discuss your needs, and create a customized plan. Sessions may include strength training, mobility work, sport-specific drills, education, and hands-on techniques (if in person). You’ll leave with a clear plan to continue progress between visits.

Do you accept insurance?
Durare Physical Therapy & Wellness is a cash-based practice. This means I do not bill insurance directly, which allows me to provide longer, more personalized sessions without being limited by insurance rules.

What types of manual therapy services do you provide?
I incorporate a variety of hands-on techniques when needed, including soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, stretching, cupping, dry needling, and guided mobility work. Manual therapy is used in combination with exercise and education to optimize movement and recovery.

What qualifies you as a provider?
I hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo, where I was a student-athlete. As a licensed physical therapist, I combine clinical training with personal experience in endurance sports, giving me both professional and athletic insight into recovery, injury prevention, and performance.

Can Medicare patients work with you?
Yes, but only for wellness, injury-prevention, and general strengthening services on a cash-pay basis. Medicare does not cover these services, so they can be provided outside of insurance. However, under Medicare rules, I cannot see patients for telehealth or medical-diagnosis-based therapy on a cash basis; those must go through Medicare.

How long are sessions?

  • Initial evaluation: 60–75 minutes

  • Follow-up sessions: 45–60 minutes

  • Wellness check-ins: 45 minutes

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see you?
No. Wisconsin is a direct access state, meaning you can see a physical therapist without a physician’s referral.

What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee to respect the time set aside for you.

What makes Durare different from a traditional clinic?
Durare Physical Therapy & Wellness is built around the idea of endurance and long-term health. Unlike traditional clinics where insurance may dictate your care, I provide longer one-on-one sessions focused on your unique goals. My approach combines clinical expertise with real-life experience in endurance sports, allowing me to bridge the gap between rehab and performance. I work for you, not an insurance company helping you recover fully, build resilience, and thrive in the activities you love.

Where do you treat patients?

I offer flexible, mobile physical therapy and wellness services throughout Stoughton and the greater Madison area. Sessions can be held in your home, office, or at one of my partnered gym locations. I currently offer in-person appointments inside JTC Fitness in Stoughton, or we can meet at a predetermined location that best fits your schedule and comfort.

What should I bring to my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in (athletic wear is ideal), and bring any relevant medical notes, imaging, or braces/supports you currently use.
